The process of cutting textiles into individual parts according to design requirements.

What is cutting in clothing manufacturing?

Cutting is the first step in making garments. The purpose of cutting is to cut out each part of the clothing material according to the design drawings and size requirements, and to assemble them into a complete garment. It is the process of cutting textiles into various components according to the design requirements. Experienced tailors and well-planned arrangements are required to ensure clothing quality and production efficiency.

Profound Garment has hired many professional tailors, each with more than 5 years of experience. Our high requirements are to ensure quality and design realization for our clients. Contact us to start your project, and we will arrange experts to assist you.

The main methods of cutting in clothing manufacturing are:

Manual cutting: This is a traditional method that uses scissors and cutting knives for manual cutting on the fabric. This method requires high skills and experience, as manual cutting requires precise cutting of each part.

Machine cutting: This method uses automated cutting equipment, such as computer-controlled cutting machines, to improve production efficiency and accuracy. Machine cutting can be used to cut various fabrics, such as cotton, silk, linen, and chemical fiber, reducing labor costs and improving production speed and accuracy.

Laser cutting: Laser cutting is an advanced cutting technology that uses a laser to cut various shapes and sizes of fabrics accurately. This method is particularly suitable for complex cutting, such as cutting patterns and designing complex clothing.

Profound Garment mainly uses more efficient mechanical cutting and laser cutting to maximize production speed while ensuring quality and efficiency. However, we also support high-end customized services, using experienced tailors with more than 5 years of rich experience for high-end customized manual cutting.

In terms of production process, garment cutting can also be divided into batch and single piece cutting.

Batch cutting: Batch cutting mostly uses machine cutting. According to the clothing model series, the sample is made into multiple layers of cutting, which is the main cutting form in our clothing production process.

Single piece cutting: Single piece cutting is mostly manual or laser cutting. It is used for customized clothing for special body types or high requirements for fit. Various cutting data is measured according to the client’s body type or sample. The main measurement parts of the upper body include length, chest circumference, shoulder width, sleeve length, and neckline. The main measurement parts of the pants include length, waist circumference, hip circumference, and crotch length.
